Here in Costa Rica, actually the police are recruiting more coast guards, that have to protect the ocean , especially the reserves and stop the iligal market, that is a good step of Costa Rica. Then answering the question, a think we need more people who have interest of protect the environment and start some organizations that make iniciatives to work with all the people in Costa Rica, it is hard to work with people, but is the ony way to make everybody a little conscious about how important is to conserve the enviroment.
About this theme is dificult do something for part of the Costarican Government, because the deficiency in regulation of the ocean, is produce for neglect of the oceanic area, in fact the Costarican coast guard does not have the way to do anything, they do not have economical support and tecnology for to face the situation and generate changes. The Governmenthe money has diferent and more important goals, the goverment does not plan invest more money in protection plans, before would invest money in education, devenlopment and health. Perhaps these jobs can be done by volunteers is a better idea, increasing the investment is not a way.
I think that the principal thing that we have to do is create a environmental culture in all the country, beacuse there is a lot of people that don't take care of the enviroment, maybe because they don't know the importance to mantain the world healthy, they don't understand that every plant and every animal in our planet is an important part of life, and all of us depend of it. So that, we have to teach all the people to be thankfull with the nature, and we have to learn how to progress without damage the environment, even when people think that the progress can't be posible without damage the nature, because it is a big lie.
In my opinion these ideas could be a key to improve our environment: to ban plastic bags at the supermarkets, to reduce engine emissions on our vehicles, and to establish clear and strong educational programms focused on childhood.
In my opinion, climatic change is real. There are not excuses or justifications to deny one of the most dangerous problems that humans have in this time.For that reason is fundamental that people, in every place on Earth, make consciencious about to preserve the natural resources, built an ecological culture and live a sustainable life, in peace with the nature.Now, we still have time to fix some mistakes made in the past, but it must be a joint effort and it must be begin in our homes, with every little action (recycle, don't use plastic bags, don't throw garbage in the streets...).
I think you are a great treasure. They regulate climate conditions, they are the house of thousands of species, and many people lives of their resourse. Unfornately, people does not cares them and they continues throwing plastics bags. They ignore or do not know the damage that they are doing.
In my point of view, Costa Rican people have to change their way of think, the Government have to promote a new culture with more sensitive and concious people, so the only way to do that is be more stronger, maybe they could strengthen the law and the consequences if people don't abide the rules of a protecting area. Also, Government could teach to children the importance of take care of ur country, and the planet we live, because they're our future and maybe teaching them could be the first strategy to make a change.
In my opinion, it's not only about the Goverment spending more money in protection. The principal step that can be perform is the mind changing of the people in the country. We should be aware of how lucky we are of having all of this wonders. The change begins in the culture and interest of each individual.
